"Trances" : Charcoal Giants in Movement
"Traces" is a collection of six immense charcoal drawings that delve into the exploration of human traces in both stillness and motion.
This project was developed during 2012-2013 at the Funkhaus, Berlin.
The drawings later became the foundation for the multimedia performance "Energeia" where the static images were brought to life, inspiring dancers to delve deeper into the connections between movement, the body, nature, and technology.
It was a journey both challenging and remarkable, penetrating the essence of the human body's visible and invisible movements.
The wilderness of charcoal and the vast scale of these canvases fulfilled my deepest desire: to channel the full energy of my body into the artwork, experiencing a sense of being overshadowed in size and magnificence by the figures emerging from the charcoal dust.
