Energeia" project I 2014-2015 I A magic connexion between drawing and dancing body

A Multimedia Performance

The "Energeia" project is a multimedia spectacle that combines three artistic forms: drawing, video, and dance (inspired by African, modern jazz, and urban dance).

At the Origin of the Work

Inspired by characters from diverse cultures and beliefs in a state of trance, a series of large charcoal canvases (2m*1.5m) shape the scenic space and are an integral part of the scenario, giving birth to the main characters.

An International Creation

Resulting from a collaboration between French and Swiss artists, the performance draws its inspiration from traditional African dance forms and European and Japanese subcultures (cyber-goths, steam punks, ethnofuturism). Energeia shows the fundamental link that unites these movements and explores the magical and energetic relationship between drawing and the dancing body.
